A Name Rooted in Westminster’s Past
The Orchard Estates name has a natural connection to the history of the area.
Agriculture played an important role in Westminster’s early development. The city traces its orchard history to the 1870s, when early settlers planted apple and cherry orchards, and fruit farming eventually became an important part of the local landscape and economy. By the early 20th century, large orchards were a defining feature of Westminster, with the city noting that the area was once home to some of the largest apple orchards west of the Mississippi.
